Coach Jim

As the founder and owner of Jams by Jim, Coach Jim brings over 30 years of experience to athletes and coaches. His cheerleading journey began in 1992 under unique circumstances. While playing fullback for his high school football team in Bakersfield, California, Coach Jim taught himself to perform a round off back tuck—gear and all! His impressive skills caught the eye of the cheerleading coach, who swiftly recruited him to join the cheer team. This pivotal moment ignited Coach Jim’s enduring passion for cheerleading.

A highlight of his career was his role in the classic film Bring It On. Coach Jim not only performed as a member of the East Compton Clovers but also helped in training the actors who were new to cheerleading, showcasing his blend of teaching and training expertise and entertainment flair.

Coach Jim is known for his distinctive teaching style, which helps athletes overcome their fears and reach their full potential. He pushes athletes to surpass their own expectations while fostering a deep belief in their abilities to achieve their goals.

Marie

Marie, Coach Jim’s wife of 17 years, runs the backend of Jams by Jim. Together, they are raising their five beautiful children. Marie has also established "Jams by Jim Graphics", a sister company that complements Jams by Jim.
